Proteon

Proteon is an IT company that provides web development, marketing solutions and events management services. In practice that means designing and building iOS and Android apps.

It makes the most sense for businesses launching or rebuilding an app. Related areas on their profile: Event Management, Mobile Apps and Web Development. They are a very small team, 1 to 10 people, which usually shapes who they work with. Small vendors mean quick answers and real influence on the roadmap, but check who covers support when someone is out.

Proteon is based in Dublin, Ohio and founded in 2006. You can read more at proteonsoftware.com.

Things worth asking about: portfolio quality, app store experience, and maintenance terms. A short pilot with your real data tells you more than any demo.
