NumFOCUS is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that supports and promotes world-class, innovative, open source scientific software. In practice that means solving a specific business problem with software.

Who is it for? Mostly teams in its space. Alongside the main category they mention Communities, Education, Non Profit and Open Source. As a very small product team themselves (1 to 10 people), they tend to serve customers of a similar scale best. You will probably talk to the people who build it, which is great until you need 24/7 support.
