Cognizant

Cognizant is a professional services company that helps clients alter their business, operating, and technology models for the digital era. The job it does: building software for you when nothing off the shelf fits.

The natural audience is companies with a specific process to automate. Alongside the main category they mention Consulting, Industrial Automation and Software Engineering. They are a very large team, 5,000+ people, which usually shapes who they work with. Bigger vendor, more process. Budget time for procurement.

Cognizant is based in Teaneck, New Jersey and founded in 1994. You can read more at cognizant.com.

Our checklist for this category: portfolio relevance, who owns the code, and how they handle changes. Ask for a trial on your own data, not a canned demo.

If you have worked with Cognizant, tell the next buyer what you paid and what surprised you. That is the part of this page we cannot write.
