X2Engine

X2Engine is an enterprise software firm that provides open-source CRM solutions. In practice that means building software for you when nothing off the shelf fits.

Who is it for? Mostly companies with a specific process to automate. Related areas on their profile: CRM. As a small company team themselves (11 to 50 people), they tend to serve customers of a similar scale best. Small vendors mean quick answers and real influence on the roadmap, but check who covers support when someone is out.

X2Engine is based in San Francisco, California. Their site is x2engine.com.

Things worth asking about: portfolio relevance, who owns the code, and how they handle changes. Get the renewal terms in writing before the first invoice.
