JNetDirect

JNetDirect provides software components for Microsoft SQL Server database connectivity and management. In practice that means storing and querying application data reliably.

Who is it for? Mostly developers and data teams. Related areas on their profile: Business Intelligence and Database. As a small product team themselves (11 to 50 people), they tend to serve customers of a similar scale best. You will probably talk to the people who build it, which is great until you need 24/7 support.

JNetDirect is based in Reston, Virginia and around since 2008. More on jnetdirect.com.

Things worth asking about: managed options, backups, and scaling costs. Get the renewal terms in writing before the first invoice.
