Ontrack

Ontrack is the data recovery and data destruction business of KLDiscovery. The job it does: storing and querying application data reliably.

Who is it for? Mostly developers and data teams. They also list Consulting, Data Integration and Database, so expect those to show up in the feature set. They are a large team, 1,001 to 5,000 people, which usually shapes who they work with. Bigger vendor, more process. Budget time for procurement.

Ontrack is based in Eden Prairie, Minnesota and founded in 1985. Their site is ontrack.com.

Things worth asking about: managed options, backups, and scaling costs. A short pilot with your real data tells you more than any demo.

If you have worked with Ontrack, tell the next buyer what you paid and what surprised you. That is the part of this page we cannot write.
