CodePen

CodePen is a web-based code editor that enables its users to experiment with code right in the browser. The job it does: running websites, apps and data on servers you do not have to maintain.

It makes the most sense for developers and businesses of every size. Alongside the main category they mention Developer Tools, Web Browsers and Web Hosting. As a very small product team themselves (1 to 10 people), they tend to serve customers of a similar scale best. Small vendors mean quick answers and real influence on the roadmap, but check who covers support when someone is out.

CodePen is based in Bend, Oregon and around since 2012. You can read more at codepen.io.

Things worth asking about: pricing predictability, support quality, and migration help. Get the renewal terms in writing before the first invoice.

If you have worked with CodePen, tell the next buyer what you paid and what surprised you. That is the part of this page we cannot write.
