WordPress.com

Here is WordPress.com in plain terms. Access WordPress is a free and open-source content management system based on PHP and MySQL. In practice that means running websites, apps and data on servers you do not have to maintain.

It makes the most sense for developers and businesses of every size. They also list Web Development and Web Hosting, so expect those to show up in the feature set. As a very large product team themselves (5,000+ people), they tend to serve customers of a similar scale best. Bigger vendor, more process. Budget time for procurement.

WordPress.com is based in San Francisco, California and around since 1985. More on wordpress.com.
