Time Clock Free

Time Clock Free provides an online time clock solution for employee time tracking, payroll processing, and project billing. In practice that means paying people correctly and filing the taxes that come with it.

It makes the most sense for companies with employees in one or more states. They also list Bookkeeping and Payroll, so expect those to show up in the feature set. As a small product team themselves (11 to 50 people), they tend to serve customers of a similar scale best. You will probably talk to the people who build it, which is great until you need 24/7 support.

Time Clock Free is based in Virginia, Nebraska. More on timeclockfree.com.

Things worth asking about: state coverage, contractor payments, and benefits integration. Ask for a trial on your own data, not a canned demo.
