Aspera

Aspera develops software technologies that move data at maximum speed, regardless of file size, transfer distance, and network conditions. In practice that means building software for you when nothing off the shelf fits.

The natural audience is companies with a specific process to automate. Alongside the main category they mention Software Engineering. They are a mid-sized team, 51 to 200 people, which usually shapes who they work with.

Aspera is based in Emeryville, California and founded in 2004. You can read more at asperasoft.com.

Things worth asking about: portfolio relevance, who owns the code, and how they handle changes. A short pilot with your real data tells you more than any demo.
