The Ascender

The Ascender is a digital magazine exploring futurist thought and innovation through powerful, narrative journalism. In practice that means building software for you when nothing off the shelf fits.

The natural audience is companies with a specific process to automate. They also list Journalism, News and Parenting, so expect those to show up in the feature set. As a very small company team themselves (1 to 10 people), they tend to serve customers of a similar scale best. You will probably talk to the people who build it, which is great until you need 24/7 support.

The Ascender is based in Austin, Texas and around since 2013. You can read more at theascender.org.

Before you commit, look at portfolio relevance, who owns the code, and how they handle changes. Get the renewal terms in writing before the first invoice.
