SLATE

SLATE is a design studio specializes in visual identity and packaging services. The job it does: designing and building websites and web apps.

It makes the most sense for companies that need a site that works and ranks. Alongside the main category they mention Brand Marketing and Graphic Design. As a very small company team themselves (1 to 10 people), they tend to serve customers of a similar scale best. Small vendors mean quick answers and real influence on the roadmap, but check who covers support when someone is out.

SLATE is based in San Francisco, California. You can read more at slatesf.com.

Our checklist for this category: portfolio, CMS choice, and who maintains it afterwards. Get the renewal terms in writing before the first invoice.

If you have worked with SLATE, tell the next buyer what you paid and what surprised you. That is the part of this page we cannot write.
