reCAPTCHA

reCAPTCHA is a free CAPTCHA service that enables users to digitize books, newspapers and old-time radio shows. In practice that means assessing, monitoring and responding to security threats on your behalf.

It makes the most sense for companies without a full security team. They also list Security, so expect those to show up in the feature set. As a very large company team themselves (5,000+ people), they tend to serve customers of a similar scale best. Bigger vendor, more process. Budget time for procurement.

reCAPTCHA is based in Mountain View, California. You can read more at recaptcha.net.

Our checklist for this category: response times, what is included in monitoring, and reporting. Get the renewal terms in writing before the first invoice.

If you have worked with reCAPTCHA, tell the next buyer what you paid and what surprised you. That is the part of this page we cannot write.
