Proche

Mobile app for hyperlocal communication and social networking, ideal for event marketing, professional networking, local community social. That is the short version of Proche. In practice that means designing and building iOS and Android apps.

Who is it for? Mostly businesses launching or rebuilding an app. They are a very small team, 1 to 10 people, which usually shapes who they work with. Small vendors mean quick answers and real influence on the roadmap, but check who covers support when someone is out.

Proche is based in Palo Alto, California. More on proche.io.

Things worth asking about: portfolio quality, app store experience, and maintenance terms. Get the renewal terms in writing before the first invoice.
