PoolText

PoolText is a technology platform that assists researchers in document preparation & editing, publications & preparations of journals. The job it does: writing and editing documents together with comments and versions.

The natural audience is teams that produce a lot of documents. They also list Document Management, Document Preparation, Journalism and Publishing, so expect those to show up in the feature set. They are a small team, 11 to 50 people, which usually shapes who they work with. Small vendors mean quick answers and real influence on the roadmap, but check who covers support when someone is out.

PoolText is based in Cambridge, Massachusetts. More on pooltext.com.

Things worth asking about: offline access, permissions, and export formats. A short pilot with your real data tells you more than any demo.
