OpenWhere

OpenWhere provides elements for building and deploying highly distributed M2M systems for powering information services solutions. Put simply, it is about building software for you when nothing off the shelf fits.

It makes the most sense for companies with a specific process to automate. Alongside the main category they mention Analytics, Big Data and Cloud Computing. They are a very small team, 1 to 10 people, which usually shapes who they work with. You will probably talk to the people who build it, which is great until you need 24/7 support.

OpenWhere is based in Herndon, Virginia. You can read more at openwhere.com.

Before you commit, look at portfolio relevance, who owns the code, and how they handle changes. A short pilot with your real data tells you more than any demo.
