Kaggle is a platform for predictive modeling and analytics competitions and consulting. In practice that means moving data between systems on a schedule without hand-built scripts.

It makes the most sense for data and ops teams. Alongside the main category they mention Analytics, Big Data, Data Mining, News and Predictive Analytics. As a small product team themselves (11 to 50 people), they tend to serve customers of a similar scale best. You will probably talk to the people who build it, which is great until you need 24/7 support.
