Gift Local

Gift Local offers an eGift card platform to buy, send, and redeem local merchant cards across dining, travel, retail, and more. In practice that means accepting cards, bank transfers and wallets online or in person.

Who is it for? Mostly any business that takes money. Alongside the main category they mention Consumer Applications, Digital Media, E-Commerce Platforms, Gift Card and Local Business. As a very small product team themselves (1 to 10 people), they tend to serve customers of a similar scale best. You will probably talk to the people who build it, which is great until you need 24/7 support.

Gift Local is based in Chicago, Illinois. You can read more at giftlocal.com.

Our checklist for this category: rates, payout timing, chargeback handling, and developer tools. Get the renewal terms in writing before the first invoice.

If you have worked with Gift Local, tell the next buyer what you paid and what surprised you. That is the part of this page we cannot write.
