Formative

Formative is an ed-tech company that offers a real-time assessment platform. The job it does: delivering courses and tracking who completed what.

The natural audience is HR, training teams and educators. Related areas on their profile: Big Data, EdTech and Education. As a small product team themselves (11 to 50 people), they tend to serve customers of a similar scale best. You will probably talk to the people who build it, which is great until you need 24/7 support.

Formative is based in Inglewood, California and around since 2013. Their site is formative.com.

Things worth asking about: content formats, quizzes, certificates, and reporting. Ask for a trial on your own data, not a canned demo.

If you have worked with Formative, tell the next buyer what you paid and what surprised you. That is the part of this page we cannot write.
