FogBugz

FogBugz is a tracking and project management software for developers. The job it does: planning work, assigning owners and seeing what is late.

The natural audience is teams of any size with deadlines. Related areas on their profile: Developer Tools and Project Management. As a very small product team themselves (1 to 10 people), they tend to serve customers of a similar scale best. You will probably talk to the people who build it, which is great until you need 24/7 support.

FogBugz is based in Austin, Texas and around since 2000. Their site is fogbugz.com.

Things worth asking about: views like boards and Gantt, dependencies, and guest access. Ask for a trial on your own data, not a canned demo.
