Filedoc

Filedoc is an integrated document management and workflow automation software. The job it does: writing and editing documents together with comments and versions.

Who is it for? Mostly teams that produce a lot of documents. Alongside the main category they mention Document Management. As a small product team themselves (11 to 50 people), they tend to serve customers of a similar scale best. You will probably talk to the people who build it, which is great until you need 24/7 support.

Filedoc is based in Alexandria, Virginia. You can read more at filedoc.com.

Before you commit, look at offline access, permissions, and export formats. Get the renewal terms in writing before the first invoice.
