FieldX

FieldX develops software tools for the agricultural sector that provides data collection and management services for the field information. The job it does: building software for you when nothing off the shelf fits.

It makes the most sense for companies with a specific process to automate. Alongside the main category they mention Agriculture, Data Collection and Labeling and Database. As a very small company team themselves (1 to 10 people), they tend to serve customers of a similar scale best. You will probably talk to the people who build it, which is great until you need 24/7 support.

FieldX is based in Raleigh, North Carolina. More on fieldx.com.

Things worth asking about: portfolio relevance, who owns the code, and how they handle changes. Ask for a trial on your own data, not a canned demo.

If you have worked with FieldX, tell the next buyer what you paid and what surprised you. That is the part of this page we cannot write.
