CouchDB

CouchDB is an online document database and storage solution for businesses. The job it does: building software for you when nothing off the shelf fits.

Who is it for? Mostly companies with a specific process to automate. They also list Mobile, so expect those to show up in the feature set. As a large company team themselves (1,001 to 5,000 people), they tend to serve customers of a similar scale best. Bigger vendor, more process. Budget time for procurement.

CouchDB is based in Forest Hill, Maryland and founded in 2008. Their site is couchdb.apache.org.

Our checklist for this category: portfolio relevance, who owns the code, and how they handle changes. A short pilot with your real data tells you more than any demo.

The facts above come from public company records. The score will come from people like you. Used CouchDB? Rate it.
