Cogent

Cogent consists of nine best-in-class partner companies providing pumping and process equipment solutions for specific vertical markets. The job it does: building software for you when nothing off the shelf fits.

Who is it for? Mostly companies with a specific process to automate. As a mid-sized company team themselves (201 to 500 people), they tend to serve customers of a similar scale best.

Cogent is based in Kansas City, Missouri and around since 1959. You can read more at cogentcompanies.com.

Things worth asking about: portfolio relevance, who owns the code, and how they handle changes. Get the renewal terms in writing before the first invoice.

If you have worked with Cogent, tell the next buyer what you paid and what surprised you. That is the part of this page we cannot write.
