Blue Marble Geographics

Blue Marble Geographics home of Global Mapper, the Geographic Calculator, GeoCalc and Global Mapper SDK. In practice that means building software for you when nothing off the shelf fits.

Who is it for? Mostly companies with a specific process to automate. They also list Geospatial and Mapping Services, so expect those to show up in the feature set. As a small company team themselves (11 to 50 people), they tend to serve customers of a similar scale best. Small vendors mean quick answers and real influence on the roadmap, but check who covers support when someone is out.

Blue Marble Geographics is based in Hallowell, Maine and founded in 1993. Their site is bluemarblegeo.com.

Things worth asking about: portfolio relevance, who owns the code, and how they handle changes. A short pilot with your real data tells you more than any demo.
